They took my money

I order some tomato plants from them almost 2 years ago, I paid them with a credit card and I have never received any plants. They sent me a post card about 2 months after I ordered them saying they were on back order. I still have not received anything else from them. I went on their website in Jan. of 09. And they said that they would be shipped the middle of Jan. I went back to their web site on Jan 27,09 and it said they would be shipped in the middle of Feb.09. Personally I don't think they will ever be shipped. In times like these it is a shame that this company has lowered itself to ripping off consumers.

I have the cancelled check - what is the problem in sending the items??? We were planning on ordering more items but if this is the way they do we sure won't. My order included 2 "GIANT" Blueberries, got one twig with 2 roots on it, did not get my "Supersteak" tomato plants, the other plants that did come were not at all healthy looking. Called them on 4/15/11 & they promised to ship shorted items.

Nothing as yet.

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!

For my $54.86 I got 2 kiwis , one squash plant, 2 ruffled petunies and one pepper plant. Those were the only very anemic plants that survived.

Gardners Choice a rip-off

I will turn them into the BBB and the States Attorney for double charging me with no refunds yet in TWO months. Customer service tells you lies IF they even answer the phone, which they are good at NOT doing. I got thru twice and was told the same batch of lies,so now I will let my attorney get my refund back for me. The product sucked and was not worth all this hassle.I learned a hard lesson so please DO NOT do business with them. You will not like the so called service you get from them,or the product either.

Gardeners' Choice Quicklawn did not send the product I purchased.

Gardeners' Choice promised to send me 5 bags of Quicfklawn. I feel that Gardeners' Choise has stolen my money and my trust because I have not received the product I purchased. I have been trying to reach them by phone since May 15 and have had no success. On their web site there is no email address to send a complaint. I am left wothout any resources to help me get the satisfaction I am intitled to recieve. I believe it is false advertisment when a company proclaims to provide a particular type of serivce and does not follow though.

I ordered the seed, got it rather quickly! its been two weeks, and ive watered like it said to do... but nothing has happened no growth at all...

Guest

Bought it, haven't tried it yet. This is NOT the grass seed which has the integrated fertilizer/mulch wrapping the seed such as found in your local store.

The scam part is that you pay $20 for the pound bag (plus $7 shipping), they send you second lb for "free" (plus $7 shipping) so you've paid $34 to get a single 2lb bag of grass seed (they combine the shipment). There are cheaper websites to obtain it though, I suspect you can go to www.gcspecials.com for cheaper pricing. Here is the label: 30% "kenblue" Kentucky bluegrass (germ85%), 30% "maxima 1 creeping red" Fescue (germ85%), 20% "pavilion 1" Perennial Ryegrass (germ90%), 20% "cruiser" Perennial Ryegrass (germ90%).

Does anyone know about these particular sub-varieties? I know that one could purchase most of these common grasses from a local store but maybe there is something to how cost-effective buying this particular mixture is or the hardiness of the particular sub-varieties.

I ordered 3 blueberry plants thru one of their tv ads. I called the number and ordered with the automated system. I just wanted the 3 plants and nothing more. I hit 3 and then they offered more plants and I hit 3 meaning I just want 3. I ended up buying my 3 plants plus 3 X 12 plants. At the end off the call their was no recount of the order to allow me to say yes or no - it just went and processed it. I even put a block on my credit card for 2 weeks not to get this order. When I took tke block off, of course the order went thru. I was charged $165.95. I called the ordering number and could not get a person on the other side. I even caled gardener's choice and they said they did not receive the order yet from the tv ad and they could not do anything about it until they got the order. So I had problems cancelling my order.

Any way when I got it, I took out the 3 plants and returned the rest. They refunded me only 95.70. I called GC up and they said it was $65 for the shipping and they do not refund this. I asked them for a refund, but they said "Ma'am we do not refund shipping". $65??? that is ridiculous!! Now I have 3 little plats that costed me $74.25.

What a rotten company. My suggestion is DON'T DEAL WITH THEM! Go to Home Depot or somewhere in your own town and get the plants there.

Guest

I didn't see any type of guarantee or refund policy on their site - wonder why?

Guest

i did the 180.00.turned over ground ,seeded, strawed, watered every day for two weeks, and nothing. would not recomend to no one!

Guest

Mine took 4 weeks (almost to the day) to arrive. I was getting really annoyed and paranoid that they had just taken my money, but it did come.

Haven't planted it yet, but I can echo the frustration about trying to get through to customer service.

The process is shady. Some one wrote me back from their email eventually but was not helpful and did not respond to my reply.

i ordered 50 dollars for 10 pounds of grass seed as advertised. they charged me 570.40 five hundred seventy dollars and fourty cent.

it took me endless amount of time to dispute to get my credit back. it was extremely stressfull.

if you need something for your garden why don't you go to the home depo, ace nursery, walmark, kmark, target etc. instead of stupidly dealing with gardener no choice as i and many other did.

Guest

I made my purchase with Garden Choice. It toook about 2 to 3 weeks to get my order, but it arrived.

I haven't planted yet since it is the middle of summer. I'll wait until early fall when the temperatures dive a little but still warm enough for the seeds to grow and plenty of rain.

While the seeds are suppose to hardy to grow in any condition, I don't want to hear any excuses if they fail to produce.

By the way, I agree with Dave, "Henry", you are way over the top! Could you be any more obvious?

Guest

I placed my order for my Quick Lawn about 2 weeks ago and received my 2 bags. I planted them as soon as I got the box out the mail.

Now I'm waiting to see what happens. If it works out like it says, I will buy more and put it in the back yard because I sure do not feel like using the Zoyas plugs, which was my first preference.

If it don't work, I'll be back. :)

What I'm pasting below is a copy of my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. It doesn't begin to outline everything, but it hits the main points. I would suggest that any of you who are having problems with this company (and there seem to be many) go to www.bbb.org and file your own complaint. I did several orders from this company, 219139, 219233, 219238, and 219239. Calling them does no good. It's always busy. I have literally let it ring for hours by putting my phone on auto-busy redial. They have failed to respond to repeated e-mails. They billed my credit card right away rather than waiting for the product to ship, which I know is perfectly legal and I don't have a problem with that as long as I get the product and it's in good condition. Last Saturday, I sent another e-mail telling them that if I didn't hear back from them, I was going to have to decline the credit card charges. Today, I received a box with a few plants, most of them dead. Some aren't labeled so I don't even know what they are other than little pieces of dead stuff. The packing slip they sent with it showed the total of my first order, but even the itemization on the packing slip itself did not add up to that total of $72.79, so whatever invoicing program they're using obviously can't manage second-grade math. The total that should have been on the slip was $45.88. I have great respect for the BBB and always check out any company I'm ordering from for the first time. They are apparently accredited, and I'm completely baffled about that. I did a general search on the Internet after I received my dead plants, and there are THOUSANDS of complaints about this "company," all from people with the same issues I've had. This isn't a life-altering event, but I consider it very serious. Two of those orders were for me, and I can deal with disappointment. Of the other two, one was for my Mom and one was for my Dad. They are elderly, and were so looking forward to the blueberry bushes and cherry hedges, etc., that I ordered for them. They had actually planned their planting for this year around what I ordered for them. Now I have to be ashamed and tell them the stuff likely isn't coming, and will likely be dead if it does. I've already posted messages in numerous gardening forums to see if anyone can help me find a reputable company with the "spectacular" merchandise Gardener's Choice has.

No communication available

I have tried to contact them by phone to no avail, even e-mails won't go through. They sure do have some protective armor, except for accepting orders. Their phones are always busy, click 2 for customer service, which is always busy, click 1 to place an order and there is no problem connecting to them. Try to place an e-mail to their site, I have tried many times to no avail, says its typed wrong, don't use capitals. Give me a break. Go on line to place an order, there is no problem for that. I'm beginning to think BBB should be aware of this compay. I'm gonna let it go for 3 more days and then I will contact BBB.

Did ya stop to think that just like you, 10,000 other people are trying to call in to check on orders, or to place orders?...Do the research, check out the town of Hartford, Michigan. It's very small, they don't have the technologies or the city lifestyle most are use to. I know, I use to live there!

We ordered 6 tomato PLANTS and got a couple Jiffy pellets and a few seeds. The ad said PLANTS.

A few seeds for $14.95! When I called the customer service number, it either was busy or no answer. These people are crooks and there is no excuse for false advertising.

SEEDS are NOT PLANTS and the seeds didn't even grow! I have been a gardener for over 35 years and this company beats anything I have seen in the rip-off departmemt.

Gardenerschoice:garantees should be for dead plants

I also did the giant tomato thing with all the extras I got two plants to come up from seed, not worth the twenty dollars: I did something worse I spent eighty dollars plus shipping, on seven different trees and got five of them in the mail, had no idea what I got, they had paint on the bottom, and not one of them has ever, ever, ever, ever even got a green leaf. sent e-mails, a reputable company would have sent a reply. I do have a idea about gardening, been doing it for about 15 years now.

These people are a rip-off. I have written a letter today asking for my money back on the grass seed and tomato plants that they sent. Neither one of the products grew. How can television allow these people to advertise falsely ? It is unbelieveable; I will NEVER order anything off television again no matter how good a deal it is. Don't like getting ripped off. They need to be reported to the Better Business Bureaus in all 50 states and drummed out of business or make good on all the faulty products they took money for. People like this should not be in business. Scam artists.

Failed to communicate, did 'nt send products ordered, took my money!

Gardeners choice delivered a small fraction of the products I ordered. Various attempts were made to contact via Email and phone. Products were guaranteed to arrive before planting season on May 31st and did not. My credit card was billed for entire amount and I requested a refund for unreceived items. Again, no response from Gardeners Choice via Email request with a deadline to do so. I have an active invesigation through my credit card company to dispute amount billed for items not received. I was very disappointed with all aspects of dealing with this company. I never received any trees, shrubs, or all of the plants I ordered. My son and his wife joined in ordering these items, so not only one, but two families are left disappointed! My order totaled $170.00 and I received about $65.00 of items purchased. Yes, I'm pissed!

Henry's a ***. His comments are not helpful.

I think he works for Gardeners' Choice. They really seem like a sleazy operation. I ordered something from them and I did check the online tracking system...their "system" would not log me in. I tried it several times, followed the directions, and it won't log me in.

They charged my card, but did not deliver the product. I'm going to contact the BBB and my state attorney's office about this company. Their website is misleading. According to their site, they have 50 people waiting to take your calls.

I was on hold for customer service for 30 min.

No one picked up. Not even one time.

Gardners choice 81961 cr 687 po box 8000 hartford mi 49057 delivered to late for planting

gardners choice advertised that they would deliver tomatoe plants at the proper time for planting in my area. I am already getting tomatoes from my existing plants and today they send me seeds to plant. tomatoe plants burn out here by july, there is no way i can start plants from seeds at this late date and get tomatoes. i was expecting tomatoe plants in february for early spring planting. seeds should have been started in december. these seeds are useless to me. this company should be stoped from scaming the public with false claims. i doubt that seeds are even included in the box they sent me. either way,if they are there, they arrived to late to be of any use. they give their address, but not their phone number. i feel i have been totally scamed. the tv network that allowed them to advertise should be put off the air.

I too received 12 assorted pea pots (tomatoes thinking that I was supposed to receive actual plants. I received them mid-April and have followed the instructions and have them growing indoors. It has been almost two weeks and they have all just sprouted. I have read all the negative reviews and can only give them daily prayers every morning. I have now just read the many negative comments about the company and now agree that instead of using real photographs of the plants, they used funky illustrations, which has me concerned.
